How has training helped you?

It has not only helped my game grow tremendously, it has made me understand the game more as well. While at the same time Coach Sam has taught me how basketball values tie into and relate to all aspects in life.

What does Welcome To Hard Work Mean to you?

It means sacrifice. Putting your dreams and basketball goals over all things after your faith. And working as hard as possible.

What advice would you give younger players?

Don’t worry about scoring, or doing what “looks cool” what’s cool is doing the things that nobody else wants to do on the court.

How many years have you trained with Coach Sutton?

Coming up on my second year

How has training helped you?

It’s been a mental thing for me while also trying to incorporate things I’ve learned from my training sessions into my gameplay. While I still play fast, I’ve had moments where I realized I need to slow down and set myself up to make a move. I’ve also learned to control my breathing A LOT better while I play.

What does Welcome To Hard Work Mean to you?

Welcome to Hard Work means you’re going to struggle. Oh, you think you’ve mastered a move? Nope. There’s something you can always fix or improve upon. Hard work means consistently pushing yourself in order to better yourself. Some days will be a tougher than others, but that comes with the game. Hard work is never done.

What advice would you give younger players?

Basketball is a physical game but more importantly it’s mental. There will be times where you want to give up and think you’re the worst player ever. There will be days where you shoot lights out or score a 20 ball. My high school coach always says next play. You’ll know how mentally tough you really are when you’re playing a game, and you’re 0-10 from the 3. It’s about how you respond. Do you get it back on defense? Do you put your head down? It’s all about being mentally tough.

Anything else you'd like to say or mention?

I’d like to say thank you for taking the time to work with me. All our sessions have payed off tremendously. Thank you for continuously challenging me to be a better version of myself. I’m always told that if I show up next season and I’m playing exactly how I did last season… I didn’t do enough to improve my game.
